The only problem I had was that the TV stopped working Wed & Thurs though this did not inconvenience me too much. this might have been due to the poor weather in the Edinburgh area during this time.

Far better than we expected for the price, the only reason I couldn't give 5 stars across the board was that we didn't have chance to use all the facilities or encounter many of the staff during our short stay however, I don't doubt they were as excellent as everything we did encounter.

Very friendly staff, looks much better on the inside than the outside. Just refurburshed so everything was in good condition. One of the few hotels that have a digital alarm clock in room. (One of those nice touches). Best to get breakfast early though, as if you leave it to last minute, it becomes less fresh when left under heat lamps, (rubber fried eggs)!
Top Tip
All of the friendly bars run in a line behind Princess Street. Very handy!. Try a pub called Rose St Brewery. Great beer, whisky and very cosy.

A good size room that was clean and quiet. Breakfast very good. Staff helpful.
Location good but the entrance was down an alley.

The hotel restuarant provided a very nice meal. We ate a two cafes at the Grassmarket, plenty of cafes there to choose from.
Had a wonderful evening watching Scottish dancing and listening to their music at the Bongo Club. They have a Ceilah each Tuesday evening.
Rabbies Tours on the Royal Mile have great day trips.
the Edinburgh Hop on Hop of bus was an easy way to see the city in a short time.
