I was a little concerned with the hotel's policy of debiting £100 from every customer when checking in as a 'precaution' in case there were extra charges (minibar etc.). The funds would only be refunded 3-4 days after departure from the hotel. Otherwise, the stay was faultless, the room was quiet and the breakfast ample.

we have stayed at this hotel regularly for a number of years. The only thing i recommend is that you check you bill at the end of the stay we where charged twice for lunch on this occasion. This is to do with staff training not staff rip off.

couldnt be nearer to everything, recommend a special occasion meal at the dome in george street just behind, also friendly drinks in 'tiles' wine baron the corner. a quick bus ride to the famous rosslin chapel is a must. bus stop just over the road. We always go at xmas ad princes street is just a lovely happy experience.

Rooms were clean and adequate. Hotel staff friendly and helpful. At back of hotel was noisy early morning due to the bins being emptied.

The staff were outstanding. I would give you higher than a 5. My emails were answered before we arrived. Location was super. they helped with maps, getting around sightseeing and getting back to the airport. We had a beautiful room looking at the castle. We will come back

The location of this hotel was great but it was very noisy out in the street. They didn't seem to go in for bath mats in the bathroom! I was most disappointed in the position of our room overlooking a side alleyway opposite a high building. This meant our room was very dark. I booked this hotel last September, although I understand the rooms are only allocated a week before the stay, so I was very disappointed we had such an inferior room, especially as we paid nearly £120 a night for it.

Lovely location, clean and comfortable, though the room was a bit small with just enough clearance to get round the bed.
Restaurant is lovely and service is good.

Whiski rooms are very nice whether you want to dine, have a drink or buy some of Scotland's finest export. The Castle and the Royal Yacht Britannia are a must and there's a wide range of theatres and museums.
