Offering an unbeatable blend of cosiness and modernity – as well as a great location – the Royal British Hotel is an Edinburgh institution. Though it isn't that big a property, the guestrooms' high ceilings lend them a great feeling of light and space. And there’s no better way to start a day in Edinburgh than with the wonderful views from the breakfast room.

The Royal British hotel is housed in a handsome, traditional building with an ornate façade situated right on Princes Street. Recently renovated, it offers great views over Princes Street Gardens and the Castle. Accessible from street level via an elevator, the cosy lobby effortlessly blends old and new, with its pine fittings and chandelier. The same mixture of tradition and modernity is evident in the bright, airy guestrooms. The Glendale Restaurant and Bar offers unmatched Edinburgh views and serves Continental or Full Scottish Breakfast from 7.30am – 10.00am, Lunch and Dinner.

     Breakfast really good...             Excellent hotel for a 3 day December break ...             its a well used hotel ...             food was ok...             Generally a good standard ...             Athough we enjoyed our stay this hotel could do with a bit updating...             a very good, clean and well located hotel...             extremely dated....              It s clean ...             Very worn out and tired...              noisy...             Very nice but needs a little bit of attention maintenance/decor wise....             I have but praise for the Royal British Hotel...             .I am returning there ...             very tired looking...             very dissapppointing hotel ...
